About Titian
Titian is a jewelry brand that strives to create divine wearable arts through the collections. By combining Balinese fine bone carving and Bali traditional silver craftsmanship into the beauty of each collection, Titian tries to elevate the value of these craftsmanship.
Started in late 2018 by two college students (Michellie and Merlyn) who are interested in these craftsmanship when they are having their internship in Bali. Their interest grew as they learned about the sharp decreasing number of Bali artisans due to the raising of mass production jewelries. Later on, the two young ladies decided to create Titian, which means bridge in Balinese.
Right now, Michellie continues to carry Titian’s goals by partnering with Wayan as Titian’s senior artisan. They are teaming up on a journey to create a new generation of artisans by elevating the value of these craftsmanship through Titian’s signature designs, upgrading the long overdue tools, and educating artisans in the area on how to survive and rise.
Titian’s pieces are carefully hand-made with the purest form of silver (sterling silver), combined with hand-carved Mother of Pearl or cow bones, and then layered with a thin layer of 18k gold. Mother of pearls and cow bones used in Titian’s pieces are coming from the waste of food and pearl industry around Java and Bali Island. Finally, every piece of Titian’s jewelries are packaged carefully eco-friendly packaging to be delivered world-wide. Follow our journey through our website and Instagram @titianjewelry.
